Palo Santo Bundle
Our Palo Santo
(Bursera Graveolens), which translates as 'holy wood', is wild harvested, sourced sustainably from naturally downed trees and fallen branches. We only process wood that has been found to have fallen naturally in the forest. Available in bundles of sticks that are
perfect for use with smudging and incense.
The Scent
Palo Santo has similar scent properties to woody fragrances such as Eucalyptus, and Cedarwood, and as a tree belongs to the citrus family with ties to frankincense and myrrh.
Palo Santo has been lit by Shamans during ceremonies and rituals for centuries. We particularly like to use Palo Santo here in A House Like This during meditation to alleviate feelings of stress and cleanse our space of negative energy and improve our spiritual wellbeing.
How to use
- Light a palo santo stick with a candle, lighter, or match.
- Hold the stick downward at a 45-degree angle.
- Let the stick burn for 30 seconds.
- Blow out the flame.
- Place the stick in a heatproof dish or purpose-made Palo Santo burner to let it burn
Note: It's normal for Palo Santo to smoke in a similar way to incense sticks. You may wish to only use it in small doses as you do not need to burn a lot of the wood to release a long-lasting, creamy and woody scent. As with all natural products, these will naturally vary in colour, shape and potency.
